The Security and Intelligence Division (SID) scholarship is awarded to outstanding individuals passionate about protecting Singapore’s national security and contributing to the nation’s strategic interests. SID offers both full-term and mid-term scholarships and supports studies in most disciplines at top universities. You may even go on to pursue a Master’s degree, preparing you for a solid and meaningful career in intelligence.
Upon completion of your studies, you are required to serve a bond
4 years for local studies
5 years for studies in non-English-speaking countries
6 years for studies in English-speaking countries
Value of award
Tuition fees and other approved academic charges
Maintenance and other allowances (e.g. books, clothing, computer)
Return airfare (for overseas studies)
One-time sponsorship for summer exchange programme
Eligibility
Singapore Citizen
Good GCE “A” Level or International Baccalaureate results, Polytechnic Diploma (with Merit) or equivalent; or
Undergraduate student with at least one semester of university results and not be in the final year of studies
Good CCA records

Application Process
Submit your application
Applications are open from 1 December to 30 April each year. Apply online through the SID careers portal within this period. You'll need to submit your academic results, CCA records, a personal statement, and any other supporting documents requested.
Assessment and interview
Shortlisted applicants will undergo assessments and attend an interview with SID officers. We'll be looking at your academic achievements, character, and your motivation to serve Singapore.
Offer and onboarding
Successful candidates will receive a provisional offer by end May. We'll be in touch with everything you need to know before you start your studies.
