Internships

The SID Internship Programme provides tertiary students with first-hand exposure to intelligence work. You will work in groups to conduct research and present findings on an assigned geopolitical topic under the guidance and mentorship of senior officers. At the end of the internship, you will have a deeper understanding of geopolitics and the major security issues facing Singapore.

Internship overview

  •  Work alongside experienced SID officers on real intelligence projects with national significance

  •  Conduct research and analysis on geopolitical topics affecting Singapore's security

  •  Develop analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills in a high-stakes environment

  •  Present findings and insights to senior officers at the end of your internship

Eligibility

  •  Singapore Citizen

  •  JC2 students awaiting A-Level results, polytechnic final-year students, NSFs awaiting university admission, and undergraduates from Year 1 through Penultimate Year of studies

  •  Strong academic record

  •  Able to commit to the full duration of the internship (8 weeks)

Application Process

Submit your application

Apply online through the SID careers portal. You'll need to create a SingPass account and submit your academic transcripts, a personal statement, and any other supporting documents.

Assessment and interview

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete an assessment followed by an interview with SID officers. This helps us understand your strengths, interests, and fit for the programme.

Offer and onboarding

Successful candidates will receive an offer in April or December. Once accepted, you'll receive all the information you need to get started before your internship begins.
